Heaven"
As it's nickname
would imply, this remarkable recreation site offers
some of the best snorkeling in the Yucatan. Only 45
miles south of Puerto Morelos, this ecological wonder
was originally a Mayan port and harbor for merchants.
Today, visitors can explore a wide array of natural
wonders including underwater caves and paths through
the tropical jungle, lagoons, cenotes (fresh water
sinkholes or natural wells), a cool river which flows
through a mangrove forest, and a lush jungle.
